6th October 2025 DAAD EPOS-Alumni Meet 2025: Fostering sustainable futures in South Asia!

Heidelberg University India Office participated in the DAAD EPOS-Alumni Meet 2025, hosted by DAAD India in New Delhi, which brought together distinguished alumni from across the South Asia region to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen professional networks. 

Centered around the theme “Overcoming Development Challenges through Global Partnerships for Sustainability”, the two-day event served as a vibrant platform for dialogue and collaboration between academia, development organizations and alumni committed to driving sustainable change. The program featured insightful sessions by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, highlighting their work in renewable energy, climate change, and social impact, as well as engaging presentations by Heidelberg University and the University of Cologne, which showcased future research and academic collaboration opportunities. Alumni also participated in a dynamic “Lightning Pitch” session, sharing their experiences in Germany, professional contributions in their home countries, and ongoing engagement with DAAD. In addition, thematic workshops on Sustainable Agriculture and Circular Economy, Water Management and Governance, and Urban and Regional Planning encouraged interactive discussions and cross-sectoral learning. 

Through its participation, Heidelberg University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering global academic partnerships, promoting interdisciplinary research, and contributing to sustainable development initiatives in collaboration with South Asian institutions and DAAD alumni networks.
