17th February 2024 Heidelberg University in collaboration with The German Research Foundation (DFG) organised the Indo German Post Doc Symposium, “Bridging Biology and Algorithms: Exploring Data, Models, and Insights”

The Indo-German Postdoc Symposium organised at The German House featured talks across three sessions. Speakers and attendees from various Indian institutions, including CSIR-IGIB, IIIT-Delhi, NIPGR & AIIMS, New Delhi, attended the symposium alongside speakers from German institutions namely, Heidelberg University and DKFZ German Cancer Research Center. Dr. Pfister shared his insights on cancer research data analysis.

First session focused on “Informatics & Precision Medicine”, where speakers delved into topics such as variant proteogenomics tools, integrative single-cell approaches in cancer research, and the utilization of big data for precision medicine.  The subsequent session, “Reshaping Perspectives in CNS and Sarcoma Research through methylation profiling,” explored the integration of methylation profiling in tumor classification, global accessibility of classification tools, and methodologies for DNA methylation analysis. The final session, "Genomics & Bioinformatics", featured discussions on biomedical signal analysis for cognitive assessment, bioinformatics applications in food-derived peptides research, and concluded with a vote of thanks.

The symposium facilitated valuable insights and networking opportunities for participants, fostering collaboration in cutting-edge research at the intersection of biology and algorithms.
