May – December 2025 Mr. Babloo Loitongbam at Department of Political Science, SAI, Heidelberg University
Mr. Babloo Loitongbam is one of the foremost human rights activists of the conflict-ridden state of Manipur in India's Northeast. In the midst of recent escalating ethnic violence between the Meitei and the Kukis he has been advocating for a victim centered human rights based approach to build peace amongst the communities. He is supported by the European Union’s Protect Defenders Program and hosted by the Department of Political Science at the South Asia Institute. He will be spending eight months at the South Asia Institute writing a book on Manipur, co-authored by Dr. Harsh Mander.
