24th-28th February 2025 Indo-German School on Computational Chemistry

Under the leadership of Prof. Andreas Dreuw, Pro-Rektor, Research and Digitalisation and Prof. Murthy, Director IIT Hyderabad and Prof. Krisnamurhty, Director, TIFR Hyderabad, an Indo-German School on Computational Chemistry with participation from top institutions across Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad, TIFR Hyderabad, IICT Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad and Heidelberg University was organised. Other participating institutions were IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati.

The five-day school organised by HCSA and IIT Hyderabad brought together for the first time, 27 professors from India and Germany, 17 German students and 30 students from Indian institutions. After the school, three German students continued with research internships at IIT Hyderabad.

The aim of the school was to:

  • Present cutting-edge computational tools and techniques for solving real-world challenges.
  • Provide hands-on sessions to familiarize students with the theoretical and practical aspects of advanced calculations.
  • Develop a collaborative research roadmap to accelerate AI-driven innovations in computational drug design, electrochemistry, QSPR, and related fields.
  • Foster strategic partnerships to optimize joint investments and establish collaborative clusters for mutual benefit.
