We are pleased and feel proud to share that at its February meeting this year, the American Philosophical Association (APA)’s Board of Officers appointed Heidelberg alumnus Prof. Krishna Pathak (Hindu College, University of Delhi) to serve as Member of the Committee for Academic Career Opportunities and Placement for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2026. The committee's responsibility “embraces all activities of the association relating to the enhancement of academic career opportunities for philosophers, and placement. It works to facilitate the entry of philosophers into appropriate careers in teaching, research, and other work; it informs the board of current employment prospects and opportunities for philosophers; and it supervises employment services offered by the association to its members.” This committee is also responsible for selecting the winner of the Baumgardt Memorial Fellowship for the support and dissemination of research in the field of ethics.”

As Committee member, Prof. Pathak will be playing a significant role in serving both philosophy and philosophers by participating and performing his duties.

Besides, Prof. Pathak has been recently appointed to serve as member of the two committees – Award Committee and Programme Committee – of the American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) for a two-year term beginning January 2023 and ending December 2024.

We heartily congratulate Prof. Pathak for his achievement and success.
